Ella Eva West

Ella Eva West is a Canadian singer-songwriter currently based just outside of Calgary, Alberta. In the summer of 2025, Ella was working up in the Yukon where she experienced her first jam session and folk festival. This began her love for traditional folk music and she began writing her own music for the first time so that she could tell stories of her own.

Since then she has been developing her artistry and released her debut body of work: a series of four live performance videos. The series consists of three of her original songs and one traditional bluegrass cover. The series showcases her writing and performance as well as the ones who inspire it. Her original song ‘Lacking Love’ in the series has received radio airplay  marking an exciting  milestone in her career.

Ella shares her music through her voice, guitar, violin and often  collaborates with other folk instruments. Her music is rooted in traditional folk storytelling but also draws strongly upon country and other roots influences.

Over the next year Ella aims to become an active performer across Alberta by performing local venues as well as community events. Most recently she was selected to perform at Alberta Day at  Heritage Park. Alongside her  live performance Ella hopes to record her debut EP this year set for release in 2027.
